Goal: 21st century accommodations

When this family moved into a lovely renovated Victorian, it lacked a few modern day essentials.

The builder grade garage was small and poorly located. The constantly used back entry was tight.

Now, a new modern-yet-contextual, light-filled “garage” accommodates electric vehicles, a potting zone, a workshop, and has room for a future ADU. The garage siting and design create a gracious larger backyard, a stone allee for easy car access, and varied entertainment and relaxation zones.  Meanwhile, the new mudroom addition accommodates the busy clan’s stuff and affords entry into the basement without head-banging. The owners can now inhabit their historical home with enhanced twenty-first century amenities.
